;five books for rainy days

bookworm things

I’ve been stumped on what to write for this month, I’m going to be honest. I’ve been doing a lot of last minute blog post writing and a lot of last minute everything, and I can’t seem to drag myself out of this procrastination and this slump.

But apparently yelling into the Void (i.e. Twitter) helps, because one of my friends suggested writing something about books for the summer.

The weather we’ve been having here in Malaysia has been more rainy than summer-y, so instead, here’s a little list of books that are, in my opinion, fun to read when it’s raining outside and you’ve got a mug of something nice and warm in your hands.

five books for rainy days

Now, okay, any book is probably a good thing for the rainy weather, because it’s always fun to read, but these are some of my recommendations for something that will suck you in, and you’ll probably finish before the storm is over.

  • When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
Fun, flirty and frankly a delight, the characters suck you in, the plot keeps you moving, and you’ll be grinning to yourself like a loon. What’s not to love?
  • The Zoya Factor by Anuja Chauhan
Another romantic comedy that simply grabs your attention and plays across your mind like a movie. Honestly, it needs to be a movie.
  • Entwined by Heather Dixon
Sometimes you need a fairytale to remind you that happily ever afters exist. Because fairytales are awesome.

  • These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner
It might be the beginning of a series, but it is compelling and a complete story in itself, and, look, I just really love this book and could read it forever. It’s going to be on (almost) all my lists.
  • Ace Of Shades by Amanda Foody
Another start of a series but it completely sucks you in, and this was my last read, and heist type stories apparently are a weakness. I need more.

Each of these books would be paired with different drinks, of course, but I’ve done that post already. You might have different thoughts on what goes well with a rainy day and I would love to know what they are!

How would your perfect rainy day go? What books would you read and what drinks would you have?
