I mean, sure, <em><strong>metaphorically<\/strong><\/em>, yeah. The prettiest person can hide the ugliest of souls and hearts. But when it comes to <em>actual<\/em> books? Sue me, I&#8217;m a shallow person. I&#8217;m going to pick up the pretty books.*<\/p>\n<h6>*I literally pick them up off the shelf. Then I read the synopsis and make a decision. Some of them have been great. I actually picked up the first book because of the cover alone! At the time, I thought the synopsis was alright but nothing to really write home about. Boy, was I glad to be wrong!<\/li>\n<li>While I haven&#8217;t completed the rest of Claudia Gray&#8217;s <em>Firebird<\/em> series, I adored <em>A Thousand Pieces Of You<\/em>. It was not my usual cup of tea, but the cover was too pretty to resist. It turned out, not my usual cup of tea was exactly what I needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-2286 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/black-ribbon.jpg\" alt=\"black ribbon\" width=\"540\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/black-ribbon.jpg 540w, http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/black-ribbon-300x278.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Claudia Gray has become one of my favourite authors. And her books tend to have such pretty covers? There is a beauty in the simplicity of the covers of the <em>Spellcaster<\/em> series that belies the beauty of the story.<\/li>\n<li>Look, I can&#8217;t even talk about how much I love the cover of <em>Entwined<\/em>. There is just something magical about it and I regret nothing about picking it up.<\/li>\n<li>Same with <em>Vessel<\/em>, honestly. The story was different from what I expected, but well-worth my picking it up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am not the only one to think having pretty books on my shelves are worth it, right? Obviously I prioritise good stories with pretty covers, emphasis on the good stories, but still. My bookshelves deserve to be pretty.<\/p>\n<p>What are the prettiest book covers you own?
