There are a lot of things that I have learned over the years about creating content and putting myself out there. One of the things I still struggle with is comparisons. I look at the creators around me and think myself inadequate and pretending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imposter syndrome is very, very real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mindset of comparisons can be demoralising, leading us to getting stuck. Why should we try, <\/em>we think, when we’re just not going to be as good? <\/em>I say ‘we’, of course, because this is something I still do. This is a rut I still find myself stuck in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can be difficult, but I remind myself that instead, we should take inspiration from other creators. Aspire to be that confidant, to reach the level you think they are at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comparisons, when they are made, should be done not with others, but with your past content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a look back at your work when you feel yourself wanting to compare yourself to others and despair. Instead, see how much you have grown, how much you have developed a style and a voice that is uniquely yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your message is yours. Your creations are something no one else can make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe something similar has been created before, but that’s okay. You have done something that is yours<\/em>, and that makes it amazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Don’t forget, your creations can be made your way by no one else. So do not compare yourself to anyone. And who knows, maybe you’re<\/em> someone’s inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
