Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and even Facebook, however dwindling it may be &#8211; at least two or three of these platforms are a must to advertise your content and market yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be more than a little daunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You no longer just create content, you must <em>market<\/em> that content &#8211; and yourself &#8211; in a way that people want to engage with. Sometimes it feels like managing your social media presence takes up more time than actively creating content. Cultivating an image is just as much of a necessity as putting out good content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>To do all of that PLUS continuing to create varied and interesting content is overwhelming. It can lead to burnout and exhaustion.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In my case, trying to do all of that on so many platforms at a breakneck pace <em>did<\/em> lead to burnout and a desire to just stop everything and give up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1010\" height=\"50\" src=\"http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/divider.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3599\" srcset=\"http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/divider.png 1010w, http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/divider-300x15.png 300w, http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/divider-768x38.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1010px) 100vw, 1010px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Social media may be a must these days, but instead of spreading yourself thin on too many platforms, choose one or two and focus your energy on them. Make yourself a (barebones, if you can) schedule and aim and stick to that rather than overwhelming yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It may take you a little longer to build a following, but in the long run, it will be easier to sustain and manage. It is what I&#8217;ve done, and I&#8217;ve found it a decent trade off.
