You might have me mention this new initiative on social media. But if you have not – I\u2019ve joined a brand new initiative on Ko\u2011fi between a number of us writers using the platform to showcase and advertise our works. Author Avengers is a network of authors who will be hyping each other up every month. It is a way to encourage each other and our followers to find new creators to engage with on the platform. Because what better way to show love for the medium we all use than by writing about other writers, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative is the brainchild of Lou Yardley<\/a>, who wanted to find a way to celebrate and encourage other writers. Within the first few weeks of talking about the idea, she had gathered a small group, and now we have a Discord server where we can gather to talk about other parts of writing as well. And about other parts of our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This intitiave has been happening for a number of months now, and besides these posts about each other’s writing, we also celebrate each other’s personal wins. And I’ve found inspiration in the blog posts of the other writers as well. Victoria Audley<\/a> recently posted a blog post titled On Retellings<\/a>, and upon reading it – and talking to Victoria about it inspiring me, which she encouraged enthusiastically – I wrote Of Retellings & Reimaginings<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

We have also collaborated outside just these promotion posts. Hannah Joy<\/a> was looking for writers willing to talk about their childhood inspirations for writing, and a few of us answered the call. Reading about everyone else’s inspirations and writing my own in her recent Brunch Bites post<\/a> has only reignited my love for stories. And I’m sure I’m not the only one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
