OHEMGEE.<\/p>\n<p>This? Will be fun.<\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t read a lot of books this year. A grand total of six so far. So I&#8217;m gonna cheat, a little, and bring in books I&#8217;ve read last year too? Okay? Okay.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get to it!<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Best Book You\u2019ve Read Yet in 2016<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/?p=924\"><em>Illuminae<\/em> by Amie Kaufman &amp; Jay Kristoff<\/a>. Hands down. I still cannot get over it. At all. I have a hard time choosing between <a href=\"http:\/\/foldedbetweenthepagesofbooks.tumblr.com\/post\/140070299085\/by-amie-kaufman-meagan-spooner-synopsis-a-year\"><em>Their Fractured Light<\/em> by Amie Kaufman &amp; Megan Spooner<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/foldedbetweenthepagesofbooks.tumblr.com\/post\/137657796010\/by-marissa-meyer-synopsis-princess-winter-is\"><em>Winter<\/em> by Marissa Meyer<\/a>. Both the ends of their respective series. Both so great. Can I go with both? I&#8217;m probably going to wind up ordering them online. My top two, at the moment, are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/17378527-the-raven-king\"><em>The Raven King<\/em> by Maggie Stiefvater<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/25203675-the-star-touched-queen\"><em>The Star-Touched Queen<\/em> by Roshani Chokshi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Most Anticipated Release For the Second Half of the Year<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/29236299-gemina\"><em>GEMINA<\/em> BY AMIE KAUFMAN &amp; JAY KRISTOFF<\/a>. THAT IS PRETTY MUCH IT.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-1039 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/illuminae-300x249.jpg\" alt=\"illuminae\" width=\"300\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/illuminae-300x249.jpg 300w, https:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/illuminae.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Biggest Disappointment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t finish my biggest disappointment of the year, I think. The books I did complete, I enjoyed. So I&#8217;ll have to go with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/17669243-thief-of-lies\"><em>Thief Of Lies<\/em> by Brenda Drake<\/a>, which I abandoned a few chapters in. The premise seemed promising, but something about the execution was just lacking to me. I might eventually try it again, though.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Biggest Surprise<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s a toss up between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/12578305-the-chaos-of-stars\"><em>The Chaos Of Stars<\/em> by Kiersten White<\/a>, which I just completed, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/series\/61764-skylark\"><em>The Skylark Series<\/em> by Meagan Spooner<\/a>, which I read earlier this year. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/11558256-shadowlark\"><em>Shadowlark<\/em><\/a> (and subsequently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/11558268-lark-ascending\"><em>Lark Ascending<\/em><\/a>) kept me more captivated than I had honestly expected.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-1051 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/lark-ascending2-300x249.jpg\" alt=\"lark-ascending2\" width=\"300\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/lark-ascending2-300x249.jpg 300w, https:\/\/araopenpages.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/lark-ascending2.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Favorite New Author<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Um. Going by this year? I really enjoyed Jay Kristoff&#8217;s writing. It meshed well with Amie Kaufman&#8217;s. But also, Kiersten White. It was a breeze and a joy to read her novel so.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Newest Fictional Crush<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Ry. Oh man. Ry. I really, really liked him. His whole thing with Isadora was so wonderful. But of all time, I&#8217;m going to have to go with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/16793.Stardust\"><em>Stardust<\/em> by Neil Gaiman<\/a>, actually. Or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/21787.The_Princess_Bride\"><em>The Princess Bride<\/em> by William Goldman<\/a>. Granted, I&#8217;ve not read Stardust (yet), but I do adore the movie. (I&#8217;m going to admit that I&#8217;ve done recasts for these movies because I want them to adapt it again. Same script is fine, just with new animation and actors.)<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Most Beautiful Book You Bought This Year<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>I honestly cannot remember what books I&#8217;ve bought this year. I don&#8217;t think I <em>have<\/em> bought any this year.
