This Night So Dark<\/strong><\/em> Tarver still has nightmares about the night, six months before the Icarus crash, when he rescued a group of civilian researchers being held hostage by brutal mercenaries. Now Tarver and Lilac must reconcile his memories of that fateful night with the truth that they uncovered on a mysterious planet after the Icarus crashed.<\/i> <\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Review:Oh man, learning more about Tarver and why he was promoted should not have sucked me in as much as it did – but it has built up the characters so much more. We see how Tarver learnt to deal with pressure the way he did, and ale we find out a little more about just how the Icarus crashed – on top of that, the whispers? They\u2019re still there?<\/p>\n I especially adore the fact that the authors are taking the time to tell us that the world is diverse – and not in an in-your-face way, but casually. Names and mentions of skin colour tell us that the characters come from all over, and casual mentions of Sanjana having a girlfriend or Cole having a boyfriend – mentions that I noticed in the first novel and which made me rather happy – just enrich the story.
