I must admit I have hardly ever read novels by Singaporean authors, despite being Singaporean and an aspiring author myself. It is a shame, really, because this series of short stories proves that we can write – and write well.<\/p>\n

I received the novel as a present from my best friend, who met the author at a convention in Singapore and got it autographed for me.<\/p>\n

Full of contemporary pop culture references and a pretty morbid stance on life, the author has written effectively disturbing and fascinating stories in just a few pages. There can be a very Asian slant of things in the stories, and that just makes it more palatable to me.<\/p>\n

I would recommend this even to non-Singaporeans, because it is really interesting – and could spark some pretty good plot bunnies.<\/small><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
