And sometimes, it hurts to think that you are not as important to them as they are to you.<\/p>\n<p>But that sometimes, your importance to someone, your presence on social media, is more than you think.<\/p>\n<p>Perceptions and reality are things we deal with a lot in the age of the internet, and I could feel Constance\u2019s growing disillusion almost viscerally. And then her joy, how touched she was at the end.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been there, being disappointed by the reality of an online friend, but knowing I\u2019d keep up the friendship anyway. Just because we didn\u2019t click in person doesn\u2019t mean we don\u2019t still click online &#8211; but that disillusion remains. So I could understand Constance in a way.<\/p>\n<p>I liked that it was a short story about the event itself. No build up, just dropped us straight off in the situation.
