And considering I was finding time between prayers and busy days, the fact that I managed to finish this in three days should tell you just how much all I wanted to do was sit down and read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Relic was engrossing, engaging and entertaining from start to finish. I was a little worried, at first, that the main character Kaylen would not be the type of character I would click with. Am I so glad I was wrong! Kaylen is quietly (and sometimes loudly) strong, and passionate, and her love for her family resonated with me so much that I was rooting for her from the second we were shown how much she adored her little brothers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The secondary characters were also interesting &#8211; not as well fleshed out, but as seen through the eyes of Kaylen. They were not one dimensional, which I loved, and there were strong female characters abound, and we see them grow, see them change. I also love how none of the female characters were put against one another &#8211; they were all supportive and wonderful, and I need more of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The world building was fascinating. A fine line between dark and mysterious, and with enough questions asked for me to be eagerly anticipating the sequel.
