Alternatively; Help I Keep Adding Things To My TBR And Am Losing Control Of My Life.

It took me way too long to figure out what to write for this week’s post, but well, here we are! My GoodReads TBR is big. And growing daily because there are SO MANY BOOKS I WANT TO READ THANKS AUTHORS.

So I thought I’d highlight the last five things I added to my TBR. I’m going to be honest, I don’t actually remember adding some of these books, but I must have for a reason?

the last five books i added to my TBR

I’m listing the books in the order they were added to Goodreads, from the earliest to the latest.
  • The Bear And The Nightingale by Katherine Arden, added March 2018.
It’s the first of a trilogy, and from what I can tell is a fairytale – or a folktale? – re-telling, which I am always here for. A number of bloggers I follow and admire have given this book good ratings and reviews, and if I can find a copy locally, you know I’m going to bump it up my person TBR to read it.
  • American Street by Ibi Zoboi, added March 2018.
This one just seems more poignant and important in light of what is happening in the States regarding deportation and immigration, and I am sure it will be a painful read, but worth it in the end.
  • Wanna Bet? by Talia Hibbert, added April 2018.
This is apparently the second in a series, but from what I can tell, the stories aren’t very connected? Each story is a standalone? And this one has friends to lovers and angst and honestly, I love things for that. ALSO INTERRACIAL ROMANCE BETWEEN TWO POC CHARACTERS PLEASE AND THANK YOU. I need to order myself a copy already.
  • LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff, added April 2018.
Since I’ve added this, I’ve come across some not so great reviews about the book. I added it because I liked the author’s writing in another series, but I wasn’t sure about the synopsis, and now I’m debating whether or not to actually read it.
  • A Spark Of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna, added May 2018.
INSPIRED BY THE MAHABHARATA I WAS SOLD THE SECOND I READ THOSE WORDS. I wrote a blog post recently about how there was so much scope for books inspired by desi mythology and here we are, more books inspired by desi mythology, I am so blessed. I cannot wait for this book to come out.

What are the most recent books you added to your TBRs? (No, I am not looking for more to add to mine. Except that I totally am.) Have you read any of these books? Thoughts on them?

Please, someone help me and give me self-control too. Or the ability to actually read what I have.
