Am I two months late for a wrap up and fallen behind on everything blog and booktube? Yup! The last three months of 2019 were good on a lot of fronts, but in November, my external harddrive crashed, and I panicked about losing EVERYTHING on it. Because of that, I stepped back from blogging and my booktube, and even though we managed to get all my data back, it has taken me until now to get back on here! Earlier this year, I attempted to make, for the first time, the dessert I had grown up knowing as sticky toffee pudding. Honestly, I never knew that sticky date pudding and sticky toffee pudding were one and the same until I went searching for a recipe for my husband’s birthday. Diwali is this weekend, and I thought it would be a nice way to honour my heritage to talk about some folktales I would love to see more of. It may be that I am looking in the wrong places, but I rarely – if ever – see retellings and reimaginings of desi folktales in media. Sometimes we get Bollywood movies, that is true. But books? Okay, this isn’t technically a soup. The sauce of the spaghetti is relatively diluted, but at the end of the day, this is pasta. The first time I was introduced to this dish, however, my cousins called it ‘spaghetti soup’, and the name stuck. This is probably one of my favourite ways to eat spaghetti.
