My Books Are Now On Itch!

I spoke recently about taking my books off major e-retailers due to deleting my D2D account, which I promptly did. I’m not over what they’ve done – the annoyance and the frustration are still here. The lack of options available for people like me in other countries where our currency values so weakly against USD is pretty stark. It’s already a struggle at times to get our words out as marginalised authors, as non-Western authors, and now this? Sometimes it can be so disheartening. But I persevere, as always. I continue to write, and to try and share my writing. My books are on Ko-fi as are other short stories.…

Why My Books Are Only On Ko-fi (Itch Incoming)

Draft2Digital, the platform I’ve been using to format and distribute my e-books – one that was helpful and convenient and affordable – recently added a maintenance fee for users. Now, this would not be such a huge problem if a) this were communicated before roll out, at least so we wouldn’t be blindsided, and b) the costs took into account the users themselves. So many of us are primarily indie authors from countries outside of the US, and it honestly seems as if D2D does not care about that. So I have decided to delete my account with that. Which also was more difficult to do than simply finding a…

REVIEW; The Very Secret Society Of Irregular Witches

(Yes, I do see the irony of this going up as the post immediately after the last one. I’ve had it in drafts for ages though.) I have a new favourite book and this is it. It is cozy, emotional, romantic, warm, the vibes are immaculate, characters are distinct, the hurt/comfort is real. I love it. living for the slow burn and pining and just – ahhhh! The whole time I was reading this book – which was a very short time because I did not want to put it down – I was liveposting on Bluesky. It was just so well done, the angst so heartwrenching. The premise that…

Why I’ll Be Reviewing Less Books On The Blog

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a book review on here. A number of months, really, and that’s not been because I haven’t been reading. I have! More than I have in a long while, even. I’ve hit 10 books this year already, and 10 was my aim when I set up my GR Challenge. But the thing is, I set out a few years ago to have my blog posts on a schedule. A slow one – once every two weeks – and the initial plan was for reviews to go up whenever. Plans have a way of not working out, and now I’ve switched things up on…

SPOTLIGHT; Mylee J. Miller in an Interview with the Author

I had the absolute pleasure of reading an ARC of Mylee J. Miller’s debut novel Of Cold, Silver Storms last year. The full review – which you can read after the interview with the author – has been sitting in my GDocs for a while because I wanted to post it closer to the release date. Suffice to say though, I thoroughly enjoyed it and am impatiently waiting for the sequel. Mylee sat through my screaming at her over Discord and I regret nothing. Tell us a bit about yourself. Where to start? I’m a multi-genre writer who has aspirations to become a hybrid author (aka indie and traditionally published).…

REVIEW; The Secret Life Of Miss Mary Bennet

This was such a fun romp. I’m always looking for a good Mary Bennet story, and this was wonderful! I love seeing Mary as the star of the story without any of the sisters taking too much precedence – I’ve unfortunately seen that happen in so many stories. I think taking Mary into a new place, with original characters surrounding her, was a smart way to give her a story with that pitfall. One of my favourite things about this story is how the canon traits we are shown of Mary – few though they are (she’s honestly such a blank slate since we see her through the eyes of…
