Carswell’s Guide To Being Lucky
by Marissa Meyer

Thirteen-year-old Carswell Thorne has big plans involving a Rampion spaceship and a no-return trip out of Los Angeles.

Review:

A prequel showing Carswell Thorne’s back story? Sign me right up!

So it is good to know that Carswell has pretty much always been opportunistic. He’s always been shrewd and calculative, and smart. Also a ladies’ man. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about him as a thirteen-year-old, with a heart that he buries deep under his dreams and desire to be free.

A little surprised that he is apparently from a rich family, but determined to break free. His father seems super strict and not happy about anything he’s done, and his mother is distant at best. But Carswell is still smart and determined to make his life on his own terms.

I hope that someway this ties back into Winter. Some mention of his parents or something.

All in all, glad I managed to get a copy after signing up for Marissa Meyer’s newsletter on her website.
