The Ins & Outs Of Creating Content

When I first got on LinkedIn, I didn’t know what I would ever really post on the site. It seemed intimidating and far too professional and proper for the likes of me. It has been a few years since then, and I think I’ve hit a groove on how I prefer to write articles and posts that translates to here and Ko-Fi very well.
Why, then, could it not translate to LinkedIn?
Then it was a matter of figuring out what to post.
Connecting my platforms to one another was key, and so, writing about creating content has become my thing.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ for creating content. There are things that are common across the board – the importance of practice, practice, practice being at the top of the list – but everybody has their own approach. Everybody has their own influences, and everybody works in their own way.
Coming up with content consistently is not easy. It can be nerve-wracking. I personally both crave validation in the form of feedback, and dread it. Sometimes you wind up receiving unsolicited critique, after your content is out of the editing stage, and that can be very demotivating.
But when you get positive feedback? Oh, that is an amazing feeling.
You can find a little more on my thoughts about that here.

When you lose your momentum and motivation, things can get difficult. You need things to inspire you, to spark that creativity up again. Sometimes that comes in the form of switching projects, or talking to someone about their work, or even just taking a break and taking in content from someone else, in whatever form it may take.
Sometimes that comes in the form of mindlessly scrolling the internet, or watching some television, or eating your favourite snack.
Sometimes it comes from challenging yourself with another type of content creation. Personal challenges work well for me. One of my favourites is to try and parse down stories into just a few sentences.

Another one I enjoy doing is creating content that people enjoy seeing on social media. I may not post them on my social media, but figuring out if I am capable of doing such creation makes me excited about creating new content all over again.

No one way of creating is right or wrong. What works for me may not work for someone else.
