The Last of the ‘Tales From Ajahta’

It’s been three years! Three whole years of writing a prompt story every month. Even when they were a little late, I was consistent with these stories, and they really challenged me to write something new every month. July was the last prompt I filled. I’m very happy with the stories I managed to write over these past three years. I’ve enjoyed these prompts so much, and while we’re not doing them anymore, we are still sharing themes for inspiration and hyping each other on. I’m so very glad our writing community exists. Volume 1 and Volume 2 can be found here on Ko-fi. In the last newsletter, I brought up the possibility…

    AUTHOR AVENGERS; July Round Up

It’s officially been 3 years of prompts and stories. And this July’s is the last one I’ll be sharing, so it is very apt that Morris chose a prompt that brings us full circle. I started with the Mirrorverse – which I honestly never expected to turn into a ‘verse – and I’m ending with the Mirrorverse. INDEX:Aradhna Kaur (me!) – Broken Mirrors As per usual, any stories going up after today will be added to the list later! I hope you’ve enjoyed going on this journey through the realms and worlds of Ajahta with me.

    NEWSLETTER SNIPPETS; Issue #8

Can you believe this issue marked 2 years of doing these? I can’t! You can sign up here! This quarter was “the one with the delayed treatment”. Which, let me say, I’ll never be doing again. Not the treatment – this was the 4th round of this particular MS medication and prognosis has been better than the previous I was on! – but the putting it off until the school holidays were over. I can do it earlier next time if it coincides! Other than the way that made me feel mid-May, it’s been a pretty good quarter. I went to see my parents during which both my sisters and…

    AUTHOR AVENGERS; June Round Up

We had two prompt options again in June, chosen by l’poni and I immediately knew which one I was going to use! You might have realised I wind up writing about faith, in different ways, a lot. It’s a theme I come back to even when it’s not consciously done. The other option, the one I didn’t use, was: “Your characters are stuck in the last video game they played. Write a scene based on how effed they are (or fortunate)”. The story I wound up writing was inspired by a parable from my own faith. It’s not a one on one retelling, if course, and I hope you enjoy it! INDEX:Aradhna…

Why I Still Post ‘Free To Read’ Stories

We’re coming up to the end of the third year of Author Avengers prompts. Meaning for me, personally, the third volume of Tales From Ajahta will be linked and pinned on Ko-fi! All of these prompt fills – almost 36! – are free to read on Ko-fi. And despite the fact that my sales and members are low, they will keep being free to read on Ko-fi. Why, you might ask. Because maybe someone will read one and get enticed enough to subscribe for my other stories. Maybe someone will read one and want to know what my poetry looks like. Maybe someone will read one and decide to pick…

    AUTHOR AVENGERS; May Round Up

Last month’s prompt was chosen by me! I’ve really enjoyed the songs we’ve used, and I’ve fallen back down the rabbit hole of Urdu shayari, or poetry, so I found a couple that I enjoyed and shared them in the Discord. One of the two I shared spoke to me more than the other, so that’s the one I went with. It gave me a chance to revisit the character of Anam and the Waypoint from one of the first prompt stories I wrote, which is always nice. Let me know what you think! INDEX:Aradhna Kaur (me!) – A Wait Now Over As per usual, any stories going up after today…

Last month’s prompt was another song – with lyrics translated and pointed out! – chosen by l’poni. I didn’t use the lyrics specifically, but there was something about the music that immediately gave me a story idea. I don’t know how well it worked but I might revisit this universe someday! Let me know what you think! INDEX:Aradhna Kaur (me!) – A Glitch In The System As per usual, any stories going up after today will be added to the list later! If you like my content, consider leaving me a tip on Ko-fi!

    NEWSLETTER SNIPPETS; Issue #7

I can’t believe the first quarter of 2026 has passed. The first newsletter went out about a week ago now, with an update on just how eventful 2026 has been so far! You can sign up here! Both of my kids have their birthdays during these three months – the youngest in Jan and the oldest in March – so there was the trappings of making sure they had a celebration they enjoyed in school with their friends. Youngest actually started what she calls “big school”, ie the same school her sister is in, this year! Her birthday was literally the second day of school, so she’s endeared herself to…

Half of this month’s been busy with my kids as they were on holiday for Hari Raya – or Eid – but I did get writing done! March’s prompt was chosen by Josh, and it was definitely a fun one. How did I do? INDEX:Aradhna Kaur (me!) – The Dragon, The Old Lady & Me As per usual, any stories going up after today will be added to the list later! AUTHOR AVENGERS; February Round Up

February has been a productive month for me, though it’s also brought me a little bit of reflection. Overall, hoping the rest of this quarter of the year goes the way the first two months have been going! This month’s prompt was chosen by Morris. I went through a cycle of grief – started a story, hated it, scraped it and wrote something else in an entirely different genre – with this. I have to say, writing comedy is always fun even if I don’t know whether it lands well for readers. Let me know! INDEX:Morris Wayts – Too Much To AskAradhna Kaur (me!) – A Little Chaos As per…
