2026 is off to a start, isn’t it? I can’t say much about the state of the world, or what will come, but on a writing front, our little server is going strong. It’s always nice to have a group of writers to talk to, who are encouraging and understanding. This month’s prompt was chosen by L’poni, as it’s their mother’s birthday month! I revisited what I call the Mirrorverse, the world I didn’t expect to have created with the very first prompt when we started this initiative. You can read the previous parts of this ‘verse from here. INDEX: Aradhna Kaur (me!) – Tangled Bonds As per usual, any…

    NEWSLETTER SNIPPETS; Issue #6

The last newsletter of 2025 went out a couple of weeks ago. I can’t believe I’ve sent out six of these already and also started sending out short stories with alternate ones. It’s something I enjoy doing now though, and I hope you all get some enjoyment from it too. You can sign up here! If you’ve been receiving the newsletters, you know I lost a few family members in the first half of the year. There have also been losses in the extended family, of an old friend I lost touch with, and some friends and family of friends as well. That’s not to say it’s only been a…

It’s the end of the year, and while I’m pretty sure we’ll be continuing on with the tradition of prompt stories next year – this makes, what? 2 and a half years of prompts? I can’t quite believe it, but it has been so much fun. This month’s prompt was chosen by Morris, and because I do not celebrate Christmas and the prompt didn’t specify which holiday, I went with one from my own culture. It was a little bit inspired by a Hallmark movie, which I do recommend! INDEX:Aradhna Kaur (me!) – Five Days Of Vesakhi  As per usual, any stories going up after today will be added to the list later! If…

    AUTHOR AVENGERS; November Round Up

November has come to a close. With it, 2025 is coming to a close too. It’s been quite the year. If you’ve been following along on this page (and my newsletter), you’ll know just how much of a year it’s been. But writing has been happening, my daily streak has been going strong, and I haven’t missed a prompt story yet! This month’s prompt was a song suggested by me! I highly recommend listening to Inkpot Gods by The Amazing Devil because it is so good. I enjoyed writing to it on repeat, and the lyrics make for fantastic titles (see below!). INDEX:Alex Roma – to those gods i will speak…

Can you believe we’re in November? And last month’s prompt was a little more – shall we say, sad? A little more final and yet the offerings from my fellow writers still manage to highlight the goodness and kindness and empathy people show if only they choose to. (Yes, I said offerings. We have more than one this past month!) The prompt itself was suggested by L’poni, and I definitely had fun adapting a (rejected) submission offering into my story. I hope you enjoy them all. NEWSLETTER SNIPPETS; Issue #5

Three quarters into the year and writing blog post intros can still trip me up. I suppose because I don’t want to just rehash the newsletter snippets that will come after this? Ah well, I’ll let them do the talking. You can sign up here! There’s something about the second half of the year that’s just – busy and quick in so many ways. These past few months have seen some travel – I finally went to visit my parents! I also came down with such bad food poisoning two days in that I was hospitalised, but that’s not important. Then there were TWO weddings within the span of a…

    AUTHOR AVENGERS; September Round Up

It’s officially more than two years since we started these prompts. It’s allowed me to try so many new genres and styles of storytelling across a span of so many different sorts of prompts. This month’s prompt was set by Ash and I’ll be honest, I almost went for something extremely tragic based on my religious history. I’ve been doing a bit of reading and learning again on the history of my ancestors and the prompt is perfect for that. While the story I ultimately wrote is still inspired by history, it’s not that first tragic story I thought of. (Maybe someday I’ll be able to write that without crying…

    AUTHOR AVENGERS; August Round Up

This month’s prompt was not actually a prompt but actually a joke by Morris. Honestly though, it worked as a writing prompt, and it proved to be a fun one. We were all complaining about aging, after all – I think all of us have been writing for a long time, and it’s showing! – and the prompt felt apt. I had a lot of fun with what I ultimately came up with, and I hope you enjoy it too! INDEX:Aradhna Kaur (me!) – The Blessed Aches Of Aging As per usual, any prompt fills going up after today will be added in to the post later! If you like…

    AUTHOR AVENGERS; July Round Up

I recently started playing FFXIV so when Lou suggested the prompt for this month, it didn’t take me very long before I decided what my story was going to be – a sort of pre-canon of why my player character decided to set out from home to the main cities in the first place, but also just fleshing out her family a little bit. I had fun writing it, even if it doesn’t hit all the beats of the prompt. Games seems to be the vibe though, and I know I’m not the only one who leaned that way. Do be sure to check our stories out and let us…

    NEWSLETTER SNIPPETS; Issue #4

I’ve written four of these now and it doesn’t seem to be getting any easier. These blog intros, not the newsletters. Those are surprisingly easy, even if I don’t always remember how the entire quarter of the year has passed. This last issue went out with a free short story download and I hope that readers enjoy it. It’s one of my favourite things I’ve written. You can sign up here! My husband and I took our first long childfree vacation in April too. We went to Japan – largely because this year’s Star Wars Celebration was held there and I really wanted to go, but also because his grandmother…
