A Lookback: Ko-fi 2022

Yes, I do realise this is a very similar post to the recent My Ko-fi Journey I put up at the end of December. This is absolutely not me avoiding the blog post I wanted to write but was unable to figure out the words for. No sirree.
(Except it absolutely is, and fingers crossed I can actually articulate what I wanted to about internet discourse for that post to go up in a couple of weeks.)

As you may know from my last post, in 2022, I managed to stay pretty active on Ko-fi. By keeping to a manageable schedule – three times a week – and breaking things down into goals I could achieve, I produced a bunch of content that I can say I am proud of.
I took a leap of faith. A leap of faith in myself. In my art – both writing and otherwise. In the content I could offer to the world.
I came away with an appreciation of how tough it can be, to put yourself out there. I came away with pride in my attempts, pride in all I’ve managed to achieve. I shored up my bravery and posted not just completed and edited projects, but also a collection of ‘snippets from nowhere‘, little scenes I had written with no larger story.
And I started to make and share digital art, even going as far as to open up a Ko-fi shop. I can confidently say that I am happy with the work I am putting forth.

Last year I posted four poems exclusively for Acknowledgements & Dedications members. I tried my hand at “instapoetry”, finding it both fun and terrifying at the same time. These poems cover a variety of themes, and I plan to – hopefully – write more this year.

The second quarter of the year saw my post my first exclusive short story for Dedications members. The next two quarters of the year saw one more each, leading to a total of 3. It is always nerve-wrecking to post a story on the Internet, but I am proud of the stories I told last year, and have already posted my first short story offering for the year. The plan is to share one each month, no matter how nervous I may be.

- What sort of stories and poems do you like to read?
- If I were to ask for a prompt in the comments, what would you give me to work with?
It is my hope and aim to continue to share my writing and my work with everyone. To continue to learn and to grow and connect. I hope you join me on my journey.

If you like my content, consider leaving me a tip on Ko-fi.
