The Little Things In Life
Since I’ve started this blog, I’ve gone from being a student, to a graduate, to a wife, to a student again, and then a mother. Time has been taken up by new responsibilities and new duties and new lessons. Finding time for the things I enjoy has been difficult. But if one doesn’t try and find that time, one’s mental health can and will suffer, as I found out the hard way. What do you do then? How do you carve out time without feeling guilty for shying away from responsibilities? For me, it’s about finding the little things that bring joy. Yes, sometimes big things are also encouraged. Once…

5 Tips For Planning A Kid’s Party
We recently celebrated kiddo number two’s second birthday. In the past few years, we’ve had to figure out ways to make the day special for the kiddos, a way for them to enjoy the day. Even now that things have opened up again, it is still a learning curve to making sure their special day is one they spend happily. Since I’ve started having to plan children’s birthdays, I’ve learned a few tips and tricks that I try to implement to make the time leading up to the big day easy for everyone. A way to ensure that the kiddos – both mine and any invited (or spent with) are…

What’s New In 2022
Has it been a ride to get to 2022 or what? It’s certainly felt like it! There were so many things I had wanted to accomplish in 2021, and while some of them I am working on, many things felt like they had fallen on the wayside. But it is a new year, and a fresh start. blogging break 2021
It is September 2021. You look around you and you realise more than half the year has passed by and you’ve posted one review, completed one book, and been struggling to keep your head afloat while the world struggles around you as well. You started this post in July. I think the first I realised that this was okay was when I read Kate’s blog post How To Overcome Blogging Fatigue. Having a name for what I was feeling made me take a step back and realise, hey, it’s okay to feel burned out despite not having actually done much. The situation we are facing now is mentally and emotionally…

;alternatives to writing that blog post
What do you do when you can’t think of blog post ideas? How do you come up with new ones? If you are smart, you go and read other blogs. You check out Fanna @ Fanna Wants The World To Read‘s post on Five Fun & Amazing Content Ideas For Your Book Blog*. Or if you’re me? You procrastinate and decide to do a “funny” post on all the other things you can be doing instead. *Seriously, check out that blog post, it is so great and so good. I’ll be using it for ideas, eventually. Read. Oh, you think I mean books? Because we’re book bloggers. Right, yeah, no.…

;art attack!
This is not exactly a book-related blog post, but! I am excited! If you follow me on my various social media accounts (truly, I have too many and need to start cutting down on them), you might have seen me mention once, or twice, or twenty times that my daughter turned 2 this year. Her birthday was a few weeks ago, and her party was this past Saturday, and for once in my life, I was ON TOP OF THINGS and I am very proud of myself. Last year, I made the mistake of thinking things could be done and ready just a couple of months before her birthday. Last…
