What’s New In 2022

Has it been a ride to get to 2022 or what? It’s certainly felt like it! There were so many things I had wanted to accomplish in 2021, and while some of them I am working on, many things felt like they had fallen on the wayside.
But it is a new year, and a fresh start. As I write this post, I sit in home quarantine at my parents’ place, meeting them after almost two years. My kids – the younger of whom is meeting them for the first time – are asleep, and I can make some headway on one of the things I want to accomplish this 2022, namely, get back into blogging.
It can be difficult to balance work and life. Work, for me, are my creative endeavours – my writing, my blogging and other bookish things, my bookmark designing and now digital art. A small step towards that in 2021 was Ko-fi, where I started posting stories and poetry, and Twitch, where I have started streaming productivity sprints and art. These small steps have helped me work through the anxiety that comes with sharing my creations with people.

This year, I look forward to creating more, reading more and blogging more. With a soft rebrand on the blog, I aim to not just write about books, but also other media, food and life. I want to try and support other creators as much as I am able to.

2022 is here, and with it I hope to:
- blog more frequently. I am aiming for two posts a month.
- start filming videos again. They will be a mix of booktube and authortube videos.
- stream consistently.
- write and edit short stories for ko-fi subscribers. I hope to post one short story every quarter of the year.
- restart my bookstagram with at least one post a week.
- edit my poetry compilation, and try and finish a draft of one of my longer stories.
- interact more with the writing and bookish communities.
- set up and start my discord server to help with the last point.

Of course, this is a very straightforward and seemingly simple list of things I would like to accomplish this year. Life can be unpredictable, and plans can change, but so far, with the uploading of an old short chaptered story on Ko-fi, this looks quite doable.
You can find a similar post about my hopes for the year – more focused on the Ko-fi side of things – here. Here’s hoping 2022 is a good one for all of us.
