AUTHOR AVENGERS; December Round Up
It seems apt that the absolute last prompt of the year is about holidays. I mean, ‘tis the season and all that, right? So of course when Kelsey suggested it, we all agreed! No limits as to which holiday we could right about, which for me meant bringing in one of my favourite occasions. Of course, whether or not it fit the brief is anyone’s prerogative! (In hindsight, the new novella I started recently also fits the prompt… Whole different tone to the short story I wrote, however! But I’m as excited to write it as I have been to share the prompt fill.) I hope you have enjoyed all the prompt…

AUTHOR AVENGERS; November Round Up
Another new prompt for another month, this one chosen by Josh. He suggested putting music on shuffle, and we told him to go for it. It’s always been something I enjoy doing, writing to music, so I was more than excited. The song was new music for me, but it did inspire something. Whether or not it matches the title and lyrics didn’t matter to me as much as the vibes, which I like to think I got. AUTHOR AVENGERS; October Round Up
I wasn’t entirely sure I was going to have my story for the month ready on time. The prompt – chosen by Josh‘s partner this time – was a fascinating one but I struggled to come up with an idea. And I’m not entirely sure I hit the brief – plus this was a pretty depressing one, I’ll admit – but I did love the story I wound up writing. Freedom is such an interesting concept to play with when given free reign, and the characters you already have don’t have a backstory yet. Let me know if you think this was true to our prompt! COVER REVEAL; Facets, A Short Story Compilation
It’s so much weirder doing one of these for myself. I love hyping up books, and fawning over gorgeous covers for my anticipated reads, but doing a reveal for myself? A little bit odd, I’m not going to lie. What do I even say? But that’s right, this one’s for me! While I’ve fallen behind on edits, I have managed to put together a cover I love and I wanted to share it. Thanks to the resources found on Unsplash a little bit of my own art. The final round of edits are taking longer than I hoped, and I still have formatting to do, so publishing the compilation has…

AUTHOR AVENGERS; September Round Up
This month’s prompt was something different – a little longer than could fit on my graphic too! – but so much fun. Chosen by L’poni Baldwin, the full prompt included a video to give more inspiration. What would your character do if they could flee to any world in their universe? Would they make it their new vacation home? Try to take over? The decision and story can be based around their motivation. Perhaps your characters need a vacation. Or Your character is thrown into the worst possibly world in their universe. Is it a planet of eldritch creatures? A planet full of natural disasters where only perseverance can help…

AUTHOR AVENGERS; August Round Up
We really did decide to switch things up for the new year of prompts. And I couldn’t be more excited about it! This time around Hannah Joy suggested interviewing our OCs, and of course we’ve all got different approaches to it. I think they speak for themselves, really. I don’t explicitly mention it in the story, but in my mind, this was absolutely connected to a previous short story in this series. Can you guess which? AUTHOR AVENGERS; July Round Up
This month marked the 12th month of the Author Avengers taking a single prompt and coming up with our own individual takes on it. Can you believe it? I sure can’t! To mark the occasion, Victoria Audley chose this July’s theme a little differently. And it was perfect – a single word, the first time we’ve taken a prompt like this. I had a lot of fun with this one, and already it seems the approaches are going to be vastly unique. I hope you enjoy! AUTHOR AVENGERS; Prompt-versary
Tomorrow will mark the 12th story I’ve written and posted for the Author Avengers prompts. It’s been an entire year of vastly different prompts that I then decided all took place in the same universe. albeit in various dimensions and times. Turning these unconnected (for the most part) stories into a large-interconnected web has been an interesting challenge for myself, and has encouraged me to also use World Anvil to further build the world I call Ajahta. Am I going to keep at doing every month’s prompt? I hope so, but I’m not going to be as stringent about it perhaps. Who knows what the future holds, after all? And…

AUTHOR AVENGERS; June Round Up
It’s difficult to believe this is the eleventh month we have been doing this. Next month will mark an ENTIRE YEAR of prompts and the stories that have come from it. This month’s prompt was given by kabu, and it was a fun one! I wound up with something a little experimental that I connected to an older (non-prompt) story. (And then I started reading an old favourite with dragons earlier this week… Seems to be a dragonified month… LOL.) INDEX:Aradhna Kaur (me!) – The End – And Beginning – Of Eras As per usual, any story going up after this post will be linked in here! If you like…

July Online Writing Events I’m Looking Forward To
A little bit early, but I’m hyping myself up for a few events that will be happening in the online space this July! These are writing events with an emphasis on community and encouragement, and I’ve had the privilege of taking part in them at least once each before. You can bet I’m taking these events as a way to hit targets I’m setting for myself, and find new writing friends! GWIC – or the Global Write In Crawl – will take place during the first weekend of July. Described as a “virtual event during which participants can visit the virtual writing spaces (Discord) of other regions, participate in writing…
