More Literary Adaptations And Why I Love Them
It may no longer be the season – or trend – for vlog-style retellings of classic novels anymore (though some of my favourites still hold up), but it doesn’t mean webseries adaptations have stopped. Instead, they’ve turned into mini-TV shows in their own rights, and I cannot say I’m displeased by this. This year, two adaptations have come to a close, the story coming to their natural ends, and I’m still in awe at the levels of production they have both put forth. If You Like This Song, You Will Like…: THE BOLLYWOOD EDITION
Back when I was filming BookTube videos (which I miss doing, I will admit), I had the bright idea to do a book recommendations video based on Bollywood songs I was enjoying at the time. Now, the books are a little on the older side since it’s been a few years, and the songs even more so, but maybe I’ll revisit this series and do more editions as I get back into reading. Hallmark’s Countdown To Christmas and Miracles Of Christmas events drew to a close in the second last weekend of December 2022. It took me a while to sit down and watch the ones I’d wanted to, but now that I have, I’m back with part two of my recommendation list! You can find part one, covering the first half of the holiday events, here. Movies marked with ‘*’ are movies that lived up to my (quite high) expectations. Movies marked…

Hallmark Presents; A 2022 Movie Rec List
Earlier this year, when I came down with Covid, I wrote a post about how I was watching a lot of Hallmark movies. This has not really changed. For the past few months, I have been watching so many of these feel good, predictable movies because – as much fun as Netflix romcoms can be – Hallmark (and Lifetime) movies have an earnestness most Netflix movies lack. They laugh with you, even the ones that are genre aware, never at you. And because I’ve been talking about this A LOT with friends, some of them have asked me for recommendations for the days when you just want a pick me…
