;five romances for the big screen

When I realised today’s post was going to go live on Valentine’s Day, of course I decided I was writing about romances. Honestly, I read romances when I am in a bit of a reading slump. They’re almost always light and easy enough for me to enjoy and get back into reading.
So I figured, let’s make a list of these fun romances I’ve read that I would love to see translated onto the big screen!

In no particular order, here are some of the romances I have enjoyed so much that I would not mind seeing them made into movies. Which, coming from someone who is always critical of book to screen adaptations, says A LOT.
- The Zoya Factor by Anuja Chauhan
I finished this little rom-com of a book in one sitting, loved it so much that I went and created a mock poster for a Bollywood film. Where is my movie, Bollywood? Where is it??? - Ravishing The Heiress by Sherry Thomas
Hear me out, okay? In a world of numerous Austen adaptations, why can’t we have an arranged marriage trope written by someone else on screen? One that involves something a little more on the sexy end? (It was a good read, don’t judge me!)

- The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James
A little bit of a play on a fairytale, but fun enough to translate well onto the big screen, methinks. It’s witty and funny, and there’s a lot of careful wooing. So long as they cast this right, it’d be a good film. - Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Now this isn’t a full-on romance, but the romantic elements of it would make for a good movie. I just really loved the way Cath and Levi fell in love, okay? - When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
Just – *makes grabby hands motion at the world* – Give it to me, okay? I’ll even write the script if I have to.

And there you have it! Romances I would love to see on-screen!
What romances would you love to see translated onto the big screen?
Also, please recommend me some good romance novels – contemporary and period and even fantasy, please and thank you!
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

I think a lot of people would definitely enjoy watching an adaption of When Dimple Met Rishi – I know I would! I still have to read Fangirl but it would be cool to have a movie adaption of that one as well š

When Dimple Met Rishi is honestly PRIME ROM-COM MATERIAL! Get someone Indian to make it, though. Because then only you get the full effect of it all.
