What’s New, 2024?

It is 2024, and I am equal parts excited and anxious for what the new year is going to bring. I had actually written – a while back! – a post about what I was hoping to bring to my page in the next year, but if you’ve been following this page, you might have seen me mention that those plans have been shelved indefinitely. Personal and health reasons mean that I do have to put those on hold. Fingers crossed for either the mid-year or 2025!
That does not mean that 2024 will not see some new plans and projects and aims to reach! No, no, much like the first time I wrote a post like this in 2022, this coming year brings more than a few goals I want to reach. With your help and encouragement, I am sure I will get there.

2023 was the first year I went into a rather full schedule of uploads and creating. It’s brought me much joy and confidence to not just be able to write and delve into new platforms and methods of telling stories, but to share them as well. In 2024, I hope to continue with this – Ko‑fi uploads on a consistent schedule, a blog post on alternate Wednesdays with YouTube, TikToks once every two weeks, and exclusive poetry and short stories once a month for tiers 2 & 3 respectively.
I’ve already started on those exclusive poetry and short stories, and I am excited to venture into new genres and writing styles as I do more of them. Plus, of course, we are continuing with the Author Avengers prompts every month – I am hoping to be able to keep up with the stories, and perhaps in June (or at the end of 2024) compile all my offerings into an e-book. (If you are interested in joining us, we have a Discord!)
More than that, there are other more specific aims I would like to reach for and achieve this year.
- Compile and publish What Happened In Vegas as an e-book.
I’ve been going through a third round of edits – you can also read the first draft for free here if you dig through my older posts – and I’m hopeful to have them done by February, and compiled and ready for sale by the end of the first quarter of 2024! - Start edits for the children’s TTRPG book.
I’ve not talked about it so much, but I put together a rough homebrew for a simplified D&D-esque game for my oldest over the past few years and I’m cleaning it up and polishing it to share. The aim is to get it to a point where I can look for illustrators and maybe get a few testers to see if it has an audience. - Finish draft one of the Desi Persuasion WIP.
This project is my baby, and I’ve hit a wall with it, but I’m hoping 2024 will reignite the drive to finish that first draft because it is a story that is near and dear to my heart. - Work on the mythology anthology.
The idea behind this anthology is a new one, but one that I am quite excited about. It is very much something I will be doing slowly because I want to give it the attention it deserves, and the aim is to have a breakdown for the anthology by the middle of the year and at least half of a first draft by the end of 2024. - Complete a second draft of the reincarnation novella.
Considering the fact that I’m still working on draft one, this is an ambitious aim. But the reincarnation novella has been in the works for a few years now, and it is one of the few stories I have an almost full outline for so no excuses! This year will be the year I get it on paper.
Of course, these are all ambitious aims and goals for the year, and life tends to be unpredictable and messy. I’ll try not to be too hard on myself if I cannot reach some of these aims, but I am hoping to at least work on all of these projects – besides my usual schedule of posts, poems and stories – over the course of the year. I leave it to you, my lovely friends, to help hold me accountable.
Thank you all for the support and the love you have shown me over the past few years on this platform and others. I look forward to sharing and learning more from you in 2024.
Happy New Year!
